You can share your phone's Internet connection with another device, such as a PC, Laptop or Tablet, via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
Tip: The steps differ slightly depending on what Android™ operating system you are currently using. Please follow the relevant steps.
Android™ 8 Users
Wi-Fi Hotspot Tethering
Step 1: Turn on your phone's Wi-Fi hotspot
1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet.
2. Select Hotspot & tethering.
3. Tap Wi-Fi hotspot then slide the On/Off switch to the right.
4. Tap Hotspot name, Hotspot password and Advanced to personalise your hotspot.
Step 2: Connect another device to phone's Wi-Fi hotspot
1. Open the Wi-Fi options on the other device.
2. Select your phone's hotspot name and enter the password.
3. Tap Connect.
Bluetooth Tethering
Step 1: Turn on your phone's Bluetooth tethering
1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet.
2. Select Hotspot & tethering.
3. Slide the Bluetooth tethering switch to the right. This also activates Bluetooth if it has not already been activated.
Step 2: Connect the device to your phone's Bluetooth tethering
1. On the other device, search for Bluetooth devices.
2. Select the name of your phone and connect to it.
3. Once your device is connected and the drivers are successfully installed, click on your phone's name in the list of connected devices. Tethering is complete.
Note: Bluetooth tethering is subject to being included in your data package with your Network Operator.
Android™ 7 Users
Wi-Fi Hotspot Tethering
Step 1: Turn on your phone's Wi-Fi hotspot
1. Go to Settings > More.
2. Tap Tethering & portable hotspot > Wi-Fi hotspot.
3. Slide the Wi-Fi hotspot switch to the right.
4. Tap on Set up Wi-Fi hotspot to open the configuration settings and personalise the hotspot Network name and Password.
5. Tap Keep Wi-Fi hotspot on to personalise how long your hotspot stays on when idle.
Step 2: Connect another device to phone's Wi-Fi hotspot
1. Open the Wi-Fi options on the other device.
2. Select your phone's hotspot name and enter the password.
3. Tap Connect.
Bluetooth Tethering
Step 1: Turn on your phone's Bluetooth tethering
1. Go to Settings > More.
2. Select Tethering & portable hotspot.
3. Slide the Bluetooth tethering switch to the right.
4. Return to Settings > Bluetooth.
5. Slide the Bluetooth to the right to make your device discoverable.
Step 2: Connect the device to your phone's Bluetooth tethering
1. On the other device, search for Bluetooth devices.
2. Select the name of your phone and connect to it.
3. Once your device is connected and the drivers are successfully installed, click on your phone's name in the list of connected devices. Tethering is complete.
