You can use Bluetooth to share files with your friends, talk hands-free with a Bluetooth headset, or even transfer photos from your device to a PC.
Note: If you are using Bluetooth, remember to stay within 10 metres of the Bluetooth device you want to connect to. Be aware that obstacles like walls or other electronic equipment may interfere with the Bluetooth connection.
Tip: The steps differ slightly depending on what Android™ operating system you are currently using. Please follow the relevant steps.
Android™ 8 Users
Turning on Bluetooth
1. Tap the notification bar and then drag down to open the notification panel.
2. Tap the Bluetooth icon to turn on.
Pairing and connecting a Bluetooth device
Before you use Bluetooth, you need to pair your device with another Bluetooth device as follows:
1. Ensure that the Bluetooth function on your device is enabled.
2. Go to Settings > Connected devices.
3. Tap Bluetooth. Your phone will then search for Bluetooth devices in range.
4. Tap the name of the device you want to pair with.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection.
Tip: Once a partnership has been created, you will no longer have to enter a password if you connect to that Bluetooth device again. The device will now be found under Paired devices.
Sending files via Bluetooth
1. Tap the file you want to send.
2. Tap the Android™ Share icon (simple 3 dots joined by lines)> Bluetooth > then select a paired device.
Disconnecting or unpairing a Bluetooth device
1. Go to Settings > Connected devices.
2. Tap the name of the device you wish to unpair with under Paired devices.
3. Tap the Settings icon and then tap Forget to confirm the disconnection.
Android™ 7 Users
