App data, pictures and videos as well as files can take up a significant amount of storage on your device. If the storage fills up too much, this can lead to the device slowing down or apps not being able to update or install.
Here are some tips to free up storage on your device.
SD Card:
You can use an SD card to expand the storage of your device. All CAT phones have a micro-SD card slot which enables you to insert an SD card.
Note: You will be prompted to format the SD card to use it in the phone. We advise to format it as portable storage, so you can set the SD card as a storage location in apps (camera app, navigation apps, ...)
Delete apps you no longer need or use
You can free up storage by deleting apps you no longer need or use.
1. Open the Google Play Store app. Ensure you're on the homepage of the store and logged into your Google Account.
2. Tap on the Circle with your profile picture or a letter at the top right of the screen.
3. Select Manage apps & device.
4. Tap on Manage.
6. You will now see your installed apps. Select the app you'd like to delete and remove it.
Transfer your Data to a PC
Data from your phone can be moved to a PC. This can then be deleted from your phone to free up space.
Please follow the steps applicable to your device to transfer Files, photos and videos to your PC.
