There are multiple resets you can do on your phone such as soft, recovery and factory.
Soft Reset:
A soft reset can be done if you are experiencing problems with apps or if the phone is running slow.
To complete a soft reset on the S52, you will find the reset button located within the sim slot. Please use a pin to push into the reset button and the phone will restart.
Note: A soft reset will not remove any data.
Recovery Mode:
Recovery Mode is useful if you have a blank screen, or the device does not turn on properly.
To enter recovery mode, with the phone turned off, press the volume down button and connect the device to its charger.
The phone will reboot into a new menu Android Recovery and show multiple options.
Use the up/down volume buttons to scroll through the options and select Reboot system now and tap the power button to restart.
To perform a factory reset from the Android Recovery menu, scroll to Wipe data/factory reset and tap the power button to initiate the factory reset.
Note: Factory resetting your device will erase any user data stored on the phone's internal storage. It does not erase any system software updates that have been downloaded or any files on a microSD card, such as music or photos.
Factory Reset:
Backup the data before performing a Factory Reset as this will remove all data and downloads from the phone.
1. On the Settings screen, tap System > Advanced > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset).
2. When prompted, tap Erase all data, and then tap Erase all data again. The device will reset to the original factory settings, and then restart.
Note: Resetting your device does not erase any system software updates that have been downloaded or any files on a microSD card, such as music or photos.
